Celebrating Children

at FCC

Relax, God put the wiggle in children; don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house.

That is one of the reasons we’ve provided tables.  Here you will find worship guides and activities intended to connect your children to God through worship.  We encourage you to sit behind your children and quietly explain the parts of the service and actions of the pastor, ushers, choir, praise band, etc.  Sing the hymns pray and actively participate in the service yourself.  Children learn behavior and copy you.  All children are welcome, however, a nursery is provided for children 4 and under if needed.  The nursery is also open to older children who might need it on occasion.  Age appropriate activities will be provided there also.  If you have to leave the service with your children, feel free to do so, but please come back.  As Jesus said, “Let the children come to me.” Remember the way we welcome children in church directly affects the way they respond to the Church, to God, to one another.  Let them know they are at home in the house of worship.

The presence of children is a gift to the Church and they are a reminder that our congregation is growing.  Please welcome our children and give a smile of encouragement to their parents.

Two 10 week sessions of Wednesday night fellowship 6:00-7:30 (meal at 6) are held in the Fall/Winter and in the Spring.  There are always small group options for children which include lessons intent on spiritual growth.  Topics include:  Armor of God; Fruits of the Spirit; Do Unto Others; Old and New Testament stories.  Lesson times include games; crafts; music; scripture and stories.

Special events are held throughout the year for the children including:  Trunk or Treat; Zoo Lock in; holiday parties; field trips; movie nights; summer camp; family events and outings.  All are welcome to any FCC children’s event or activity.
