Outreach

A priority at FCC is outreach and we seek both as a community and as individuals to serve at home and away. We continually seek to provide service opportunities for every age group; from our children to our seniors and place an emphasis on the benefits of multigenerational groups serving together.

Our annual budget supports Disciples Mission Fund; Central Area of Christian Church; local benevolence; OK Capital Improvement Program; OK Conference of Churches and Interfaith Council to OSU total outreach.  Multiple community programs are supported in tangible ways including financial support and volunteer hours.  The Life Center Adult Day Care is housed in our facility and monthly support is provided in the way of donations of supplies. FCC preschool is also partially funded by our church and meets the demand for quality child care near the college campus. Our members serve on boards and donate time and resources regularly to Our Daily Bread; Elite Repeat; Habitat for Humanity, Wings of Hope; Mission of Hope and  Habitat ReStore. We provide facility use and volunteers for the oldest; most successful Red Cross blood drive in Stillwater.  Our youth sponsor mission camp bringing in hundreds of other youth to partner with local community service organizations and needy individuals during a week in the summer. Our Outreach committee has been trained to lead Getting Ahead classes and sponsor participants in the program. We are currently engaged in an on going partnership with Will Rogers Elementary School to enrich the educational and personal lives of students and teachers.  FCC provides regular donations to the Salvation Army to be used for rent and utility assistance. FCC also travels to Jamaica several times a year to work in the local community, bringing food and personal items for people in need and partnering with ACE to work construction; tutor local school children; assist microbusiness owners; visit the infirmary; and aid with child sponsorships.   Many of our members sponsor children in the program. One of the annual trips is a young adult trip providing college students the opportunity to experience mission work.  Ministers meet with individuals in need on a regular basis; providing assistance; spiritual guidance and prayer.

We pray to keep open eyes; ears; minds and hearts to the needs near and far and to be continually led and prompted by the Holy Spirit to reach out in as many ways as possible. We don’t believe we are saved by our works but we work because we have been saved
