John Bain, Senior Minister
Our Senior Minister Rev. John Bain has been serving FCC since October 11, 2015. Born and raised in North Central Montana, Rev. Bain received undergraduate B.A.’s from the University of Montana and Northwest Christian in Eugene, Oregon and his M. Div from Brite Divinity School at TCU.
Prior to his arrival in Stillwater, he served congregations in Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Montana and, most recently, Parsons KS. Rev. Bain has also served as an advocate for children and youth for the Disciples, and has also been on different Regional Commissions and Committees throughout his ministry. He has always striven to be active in local, ecumenical ministries, as well as engagement in other ways in the community.
He met his wife Ronni at seminary and they were married in 1989. They are the parents of two young adult children, Danni and Ian, and one teenager, Micah. They have been involved for a number of years in rescuing dogs, and are currently the proud “parents” of four. Ronni is a very gifted decorator, much of which can be seen through different settings in the sanctuary.
Pastor John’s hobbies include music, community theater, running and spending time with his family. He is pleased to be a part of this outward-looking congregation as it strives to be a part of the movement for wholeness in a broken and fragmented world.
Sondra Ladd, Associate Minister
A native Oklahoman, Reverend Sondra has served FCC since 2002 and completed her Commissioned Ministry Training Program in 2014. Reverend Sondra has devoted more than 30 years to children’s and youth ministry: she has established, organized, and led regional mission camps; led local, statewide, and international mission trips; and organized local and international outreach opportunities for FCC.
Reverend Sondra and her husband, Rick, have been married for 36 years, and have three children and two grandchildren together. Pastor Sondra’s hobbies include walking, biking, anything outdoors, and weekend getaways to Branson, MO.
Ephesians 2: 8-10 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Sondra’s life motto is “Love as we have been loved. Gratitude + Servitude = Contentment.”
